Wreckless Strangers’ ‘Orange Sky Dream’ is an Enriching Fluid Rock Bloom

Wreckless Strangers is a musical collective with six incredibly talented musicians with impressive rap sheets. Their brand of rock is an enriching blend of folk, blues, americana, and soul. Sometimes you might even catch strokes of rock n roll and classic rock. They are not bound by stringent constructs of music. As spirited musicians and explorers, they value authenticity and allow the track to claim its identity. In their latest EP, ‘Orange Sky Dream’, they paint on dazing soundscapes, colored in with vintage sensibilities and uplifting sentiments. Across the collection, you’ll instantly be able to pick up references to bands like The Beach Boys, Janis Joplin, Huey Lewis, Rolling Stones, and Neil Young.

The EP breaks out with ‘Break the Line’. It is a textured folk-rock track with prominent notes of blues and rock n roll. The progressions are engaging and the rhythms are prolific. We see novel juxtapositions and creative elements across the soundscape. The artistic rebellion is woven into the track, which in its subtly brings out the thematic spirit.

‘Roses of War’ is a heartfelt acoustic track, led by the combined resonance of soulful vocals and ethereal weaves. ‘You’re All I Need’ also features Amber on vocals. Her voice is vulnerable and visceral, filtered through the distorting daze of the riffs.

‘Shudda Known’ follows with contrasting charisma. It is flushed with bluesy grunge, whiskey-tinged vocals, and groovy funk. This swirl, excited by an overarching rock n roll theme, mounts the listening experience all the way up. ‘Grace of God’ forms along the same plane, but is softer and loosely strung with crunchy grooves and riffs.

‘Fast Girls’ is a hyperactive blend of country flavors. Elements of swing, barn dance, honky tonk, and bluesy-jazz blooms in the beats, vocals, melodies, and riffs. It is groovy, grand, and takes you back to the 60s.

Wreckless Strangers consists of Amber Morris on vocals, David Noble on lead guitar, vocals, Joshua Zucker on bass, Austin de Lone on keys, vocals, Mick Hellman on drums, vocals, and Rob Anderson on guitar.
