Song Review/ Whimsical Alt Pop : Juno Empire’s ‘Gold Eyes’

Juno Empire creates explosions with music in ways that intermingle melody with light, visuals, color, and tonal harmonies. The musician and composer behind the banner, Alexander Thomas aims to explore something he calls, ‘existential optimism’, a philosophy that focuses on momentous evolutions and transformative mundanity. He debuts with ‘Gold Eyes’, a track that perhaps rewards magical perspectives, romantic notions, and uplifting energies.

It is a plush track full of tactile, tonal, and tinges. It has many appeals, constantly swirling in ways reminiscent of Daft Punk, Tame Impala, and Beach House. Evolving ambiences with an expansive horizon. Fluid, floating patterns, textural bliss, all just there for your taking. Creating this space, this sense of dreamy, 80s mellow funk infused electro pop largesse somehow opens up something in the mind. So sensually stimulating, it awakens something vividly beautiful in the listener.
