Hanemoon’s ‘They Bring The War Back Home’ : Wide Eyed Folk Rock Wonder
Hanemoon is an indie rock band that is founded by Hans Foster; a banner that merges at the edges of folk rock, melodic indie, at the starting point of shoegaze. The artist’s music has quite a modern flavor. However, the energy, the melancholy, the instrumental atmosphere, and especially the vocal presentation takes us back to the wide eyed wonder of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, and occasionally Simon & Garfunkel.
His latest release is ‘They Bring the War Back Home’, an anti-war song that delves into the psyche of the soldiers fighting it. With the glazed instrumentals, he casts a profound perspective that wars even if “won” will never end. The violence stays with the people, seeps into the land, and even enters homes and takes up residence. Throughout the track, the artist critiques the callousness of waging war and the war culture.
The track teases the artist’s upcoming EP, ‘Easy on the Wildlife’. It is geared towards inspiring a wave of change, through perspective art and musical creativity. It takes us back to the good old 70s when The Beatles and Dylan were immersed in similar efforts. Listen Now!
