Shaela Miller : After the Masquerade

Shaela Miller is an indie rock and alt-pop artist influenced by an eclectic spectrum of music. Her music is best described as “a binary of New Wave and Classic Country”. With a distilled artistic vision, she geniusly reconciles the classic with the contemporary. And in the process, creates new sonic constructs and energies that only make sense in the context of her. For her latest release, ‘After The Masquerade’ the artist composed an electro-rock canvas that is delightfully indie, retro, and modern all at the same time.

Across the track, she references so many timelines, from the 80s synth-pop to 90s indie, and 2010s pop. Her vocals traverse a beautiful gradient of Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, and Lana Del Rey, blending the unique melancholic attributes of each artist. And as for the soundscape, with long-winded bass grooves, multiple synth cultures, and riffs bring a shade of vibrant complexity to the song.
