Album Review/ Synth Pop : Creativity Native Scene’s ‘Sometimes We Arrive At The Short Fall’
Creativity Native Scene is an instrumental banner which is geared towards exploring the inarticulate aspects of life. There are so many feelings that is impossible to convey with words. This band draws from those infinities, so abstract realities create expansive journeys. Blending modern electronica with choral influences, angelic harmonies, all inclined towards lifting up the listener, they create atmospheres of feeling. Their latest release is ‘Sometimes We Arrive At The Short Fall’, an EP that dives into moments of faith, fantasy, and the adventure of them when combined.
The EP opens with ‘The Prophet’, it is a dynamic, drifting composition that is textured with orchestral synth formations, raining harmonies, circular rhythmic belts and a loose, fluid groove. They melt into an evolving motif, becoming a continuum of light, leadership, elevation, and strength. The track introduces an oasis of sorts, of transient harmonies meeting plush synths. And this carries into the next track, ‘The Son is Born’, continuing the story. The continuum continues, but is now slightly angled away from the beginning. We see rustic acoustic string textures and faint middle eastern accents.
‘Ride By Nightfall’, sounds exactly like the title reads. The images that it invokes as soon as you read it, that’s the frame that the song forms in. The band, with their cinematic weaves and performative elements like marching beats, mercurial basslines, and creative grooves, orchestrate nocturnal drama. We see those oasis motifs returning here as well. It is dynamic, a path that is action packed, headed somewhere urgently and authoritatively.
‘The Respite’ is an acoustical flow, rich with raw instrumental textures and contemplative tones. It feels like sun rays falling through the leaves, or the emotion that petrichor brings to people. The title track reintroduces the drama. With such varied and vivid performative elements, the soundscape becomes almost its own musical culture. The energy and sentiments are so intense and passionate that they have the power to affect you, allure you, and devour you. Listen Now!
The EP is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
