Song Review/ Neo-Soul : Alfred Jones’ ‘Stupid Town’

Alfred Jones is a singer-songwriter and a neo-soul artist. Hailing from Virginia, there’s a little bit of everything that makes up the soul music spectrum. From all ethos of its evolution. His latest release, ‘Stupid Town’ is so softly spontaneous that it ebbs from one plane to flow effortlessly into another. We see moments of dream pop, R&B, alt folk acoustics, and a touch of modern blues.

His style, influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Gracie Adams, and Willie Nelson, is to craft soundscapes as musical tales that showcase intimate moments of individual thought, feelings, and memories. And the soundscape keeps us moving from neo jazz in the intro, to blues piano lines, to soul pop and dreamy R&B as we progress into the song. Listen Now!
