Trickshooter Social Club Present a Delightful Mesh of Rock & its Subcultures in ‘Truck Stop Dangerous’

Trickshooter Social Club is an incredible alt rock band with a vintage sound. Their work shines with the touch of the golden era of rock, with influences from The Beatles, Queen, Beach Boys, The Who, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Speaking to their style, the band states, “Our music is an oddly literate, completely eclectic approach to fuzzy, tweedy, garage-y, country-tinged, stomp and clap American rock-n-roll. Sometimes singer/songwriter, sometimes loud and unapologetic – our songs are a little whiskey soaked and world weary – but always leave a little room for redemption.” And that pretty much sums up the true spirit of the band. A more honest description has not been made. In their latest EP, ‘Truck Stop Dangerous’, they set out four tracks, each one a delightful mesh of rock and a multitude of its subcultures. Listen Now!

The EP opens with a rolling grunge and groovy garage rock combo in ‘Beautiful’. It is passionately retro from the lyrics and vocal delivery to sound structures and energy. And amidst the hard core riff plugs and gruff baritones, the melody line splatters with an experimental ennui. Colorful and scintillating, it brings a unique dimension to the soundscape.

Next up, ‘Clarksdale Serenade #2’. The track attaches vividly variant frames consecutively. Opening with a Nicklebackesque biker-American rhythm signature, it loosens into a flush of soulful Americana for the chorus. Even in this track, definitely watch for the details. Sprung with violin accents, the band seamlessly combines hard grunge with sentimental whimsy of folk. The drum work is versatile and so effortlessly flexible that percussive connoisseurs will definitely appreciate.

‘Elvis Figurines’ is an folk americana song with punching beats and a humming bassline. Listening to it will take you back to Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’, only this one is lit up with swashes of violins, banjos, and electric guitar. ‘Lie To Me’ concludes this collection with swirling country instrumentation and soulful evocations. Underscored with melancholy, there’s a mist of blues that drenches the track.

This EP is the band’s second release this year (2023) following ‘Wilderness Radio (EP)’. You can learn more about the band and follow their music/ check out the shows they’re playing here : https://trickshootersocialclub.com
