Tone Ranger’s ‘Dark Horse’ Uncovers the Desert’s Myths & Mysteries

Tone Ranger is a sonic banner of producer, Alex Simon, that is dedicated to a nuanced field of music. The soundscapes celebrate the virtues and visuals of deserts, its dimensions, dunes, its myths and mysteries. Through mellow orchestrations, he throws an ambience full of evocative and cerebral sensibilities. And by the end of it, you’re wrapped in the beauty of deserts as he sees them.

His latest release is ‘Dark Horse’, a groovy, lofi funk-infused sound that evokes a hypnotic surreal and a surrounding sense of ethereal. The vocals are deceptive, twinkling with evasive darkness. Winding through the swirling synths like a forest fairy, disappearing just when you think you’ve got a hold of it. And the melodies are new wave and contemporary with retro under tones. There’s some disco, 80s synth pop and glam rock. The best way to enjoy it is to just go with the fusions, rejoice in their variations and celebrate the creative intuitions. Listen Now!
