Song Review/ Indie Rock : Eddie Cohn’s ‘Stop Waving the Gun’
Eddie Cohn’s indie rock in his latest release, ‘Stop Waving the Gun’ is not the ordinary kind. It is groovy with a shady cast of blues and background rock n roll. We even see a remarkable use of garage rock and grunge textures to animate the emotion and sentiment of the theme. He does employ retro techniques, casting an 80s atmosphere.
It is immersive but evasive as it progresses with licks of exploratory and experimental melody lines and riff flows. Towards the climax, we especially see more and more of these innovative spells, especially in the warping, mercurial guitar frame; bending as it does with funk influenced blues and soul styles.
