Song Review/ Indie Pop : Woodstone’s ‘Doves’

Woodstone brings a vividly modern and nuanced spin to indie pop. With tones and textures finely aligned with the thematic framework, he brings the story to life. The instrumentals almost attain a tactile dimension that you can absorb into yourself. His latest is ‘Doves’, a track that is inspired in the aftermath of a breakup. The protagonist feels invisible and lonely because of it. Spinning that space into an evocative journey of falling in love, experiencing its magic, and wanting more of it over and over.

The track blends slicing lights of synths, their luminous sounds swiping over resonant guitar flows. Woodstone’s vocals have a notable 2000s ethos. The chorus especially is reminiscent of Maroon 5, before it is displaced by the moody, potent contemporary blues rock accents. Listen Now!
