Single Review : The Suburban Bicycle Gang’s ‘Babes from Bill’s’

The Suburban Bicycle Gang celebrate the whimsy and eccentricity of funk rock in their latest release ‘Babes from Bill’s’. With a distorted rhythm design playing into a riff heavy guitar atmosphere and absurd vocal frequencies, the soundscape is rife with progressive funk ideas. It draws you back to artists of the 20th century like Queen and David Bowie  but also engages you with interesting sonic sequences that are novel and unique.

The track recalls some of the ideas that they explored in the debut album, ‘In The Cosmos’ and works them for this context. To see its nuanced execution is scintillating. The vocals are tight and dramatic, carving mountains across the soundscape. They are dimensionalized, conceptualized, and elevated by the guitar, beat, and bass accessories that flow generously in the backdrop. Listen Now!
