Single Review : The Flying Beets’ ‘Villain’
The Flying Beets are a pleasure to listen to. Their music orients to 90s and early 00s rock, in terms of instrumental style, energy, and ethos. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the indie rock band is tinged with country-rock textures and a bluesy swirl that is simply intoxicating. Their latest release, ‘Villain’ is a resonant track that rises with anthemic heartache and melancholy.
There’s so many rock profiles that form within the track. Melodic hooks phase into luminous riffs, spreading distortions, and Elvis Costello-esque vocals. Instantly vintage and classic, it soaks the listener with its atmospheric cast. It is a neat cocktail of Regina Spektor, The Smiths, and Fleetwood Mac with gritty 60s surf rock plays and 80s blues rock. Listen Now!
The Flying Beets is fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist, Nathan Waller and backed by rhythm guitarist, David CRISs and Kenn Scott on the drums.
