Powers of the Monk’s ‘ Puffy Head’ is a Spanning Acoustic Folk Track

Powers of the Monk is an alternative band with influences that span across an impressive spectrum. Their sonic productions are dotted with past interests, intersecting with new and present ideas. You’ll see the sobered down version of the electro rock band they were in 2005. Forming in the backdrop, it nicely rides into the indie folk and indie pop aesthetics that they began to associate with in 2020. Their latest release is ‘Puffy Head’, a pastel washed, mellow breeze that is reminiscent of artists like Sufjan Stevens, Elton John, and Bon Iver.

The track spreads out like a seamless valley. Warm toned melodies sway into dreamy vocal falsettos. There’s an enjoyable levity to the track that is somehow both stimulating and sedating. Glassy tangents light up the rousing acoustic atmosphere. If you enjoy serene, vintage summer folk, then this track is for you. Listen Now!
