Music Review : 3 Leagues to Rome’s ‘Dying Day’

There’s a saying ‘The only truth is music’. 3 Leagues to Rome breathe meaning into this phrase with their latest release, ‘Dying Day’. The composition is infused with a deep sense of reality, forging emotions like melancholy, loneliness, tragedy, and heartache with narratives that resonate with all of us. Leveraging the numbing haze of mild distortions and ghostly vocals, the listener is suspended in the thick of it. Neither suffocating, nor refraining, the bluesy riffs and molten melody form psychedelic swirls and glisten with prophetic sensibilities.

This ghost land, haunting in exhibition, complex, and exquisite in concept/technique is something out of the handbook of Nirvana and Soundgarden. 3 Leagues to Rome is Brian & Steve Mutchler, Paul Baker, Dave Boggs & Dan Stead. Since their debut in 2021, the Pennsylvania-based band has released five singles. Listen Now!
