Interview: Ruby Nixxons Talk to Us About Latest Release, ‘Lucky No. 7’

Hello to everyone at Ruby Nixxons. Please feel free to answer these questions either collectively or individually.

  1. We’re so excited about this release, ‘Lucky No. 7’! It’s premium-quality alt-rock. What is the primary theme that you sought to bring out with the track?

The song is about hope. Hope in a better future in the face of the slings and arrows of life's misfortunes.

  2. Your music references a lot of old-school styles and rock cultures. Makes us instantly nostalgic! Who are some of the artists that you look up to and draw inspiration from?

We all bring our own Influences including ACDC,ABBA, Gloria Gaynor. Neil Young, Beatles, BoneyM.

  3. Can you tell us a little about how Ruby Nixxon was founded and the creative aspects and roles that each of you play under the banner.

The Band came together when we all met at a Glasgow rehearsal room, had a chat then played Superstition perfectly, at that point we new something akin to magic had occurred. Dan will compose the Bass lines, melody, lyrics, and initial structure. Gordon will compose the Drum parts, tempo, and groove. Steve composes guitar solos, and initial chord structures. We then organically develop the track into its final form by playing it together during this process, new ideas are introduced and original parts of the song may change until the final form of the track takes shape. Much like any other artistic endeavor.

  4. This single is the third official release of the band. What are some of the projects and releases that you have lined up for your listeners?

We will shortly be releasing Midnight Candy. Another Premium Quality track in the Buffet of Rock Music.

  5. Finally, a lot of people say that rock music is dying. What is your opinion on this?

Rock Music cannot die, people need authentic voices, much like a loving embrace from a partner, a quality whisky over ice, it is a moment of escape from the burdens of life.
