Ho Jo Fro’s ‘Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well) : A Warm Melodic Rock Flow

Ho Jo Fro is the musical project of musician Howard Johnson who loves to collaborate and expand the horizon of melodic rock. Imagine the ethos of The Beatles and The Beach Boys phased out into contemporary forms like alt folk, folk pop, neo- jazz and perhaps even some blues. That’s that sonic ring that encompasses the latest release, ‘Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well)’. Featuring the vocals of Iyla Elise, the track has a very homegrown style, mellow, ambient, warm, and intuitive. An informal spirit floats about that makes you feel closer and form a more intimate connection with the song.

Feel-good melodies, fuzzy riffs, and the reminiscing vocals infuse the song with a wide eyed wonder of youth. Iyla’s voice is soft and nostalgic, transferring the stories of youth so candidly to the listener. And with pleasing melodic fusions in the backdrop, cozy guitar flows, peppered with rhythmic riffs, and playful trumpet accessories, the track acquires an immersing glow. It’s like lounging on a sunset beach, bathed in the dim color and light of the fading sun (of the past). Listen Now!
