Himmat Singh Beguiles With Lofi Hip-Hop in ‘Drop Drip’

The American Indian singer-songwriter and pop rap artist delivers a fresh dimension to the hip-hop scene. Blending elements of Punjabi music with western music culture, he brings on a collision of unseemly styles and makes them sound great. In his latest single, ‘Drip Drip’, the artist crafts a lo-fi synth soundscape, detailing it with mellow beats and melodic vocals. It is a love song expressed as a stream of consciousness flow. The hooks are gradual, coming in like gentle waves. It is the kind of song that washes over you, all its emotion forming like a tale in the mind.

The track is also produced minimally. With a simple one dimensional sonic scape, the artist scales up to pervasive planes of emotion. His baritones are contemplative features, dreamy in their monotonal expression that it is easy to escape into it. The charm, elegance, and timelessness of it is definitely something that has you coming back to it over and over.
