ENGRAVED Create a Raw & Gritty Metal Collision in ‘The Wretched One’
‘The Wretched One’ is the latest release of the Australian metal band, ENGRAVED’. It blows through you, raw, gritty, and uninhibited, pulverizing your mind to the point of no return. In the best way of course. With this track, they bring that brutal thrash energy with catchy riffs and a handy cam to the dark side. It is an interesting evolution, especially to see genres collide so aesthetically.
After you’re treated to the riff for the intro, the marching break comes, with what I can only call a magnetic riff. The verse section is an obliterating grenade launch, creating some pockets of headbanging haven. It is a link to the classic thrash that has been a staple of a lot of our childhoods, delivering annihilation in a .mp3 format. We are forever grateful for indie bands like this taking up the mantle, and heating it to another core.
