E.G Phillips’s Poetic Ethos Blooms in ‘The Albatross Song (Mellow Like)’

E.G Phillips’s ethos lies with poetry, a philosophical land that contemplates both lyrically and instrumentally. He makes alt folk songs that carry you into his whirls of thought. It’s like being immersed in the artist’s head, perspective, and cerebral atmosphere. It’s such an authentic and interesting way of showcasing your version of the world.

His latest release is ‘The Albatross Song (Mellow Like)’, a track that spreads out, arms, legs, wings, and thoughts reaching to touch the horizon. The song is like a panorama, a landscape that you can see all at once. As he sings about true love, the feeling of home, and happiness, he loops in the mysteries, rhetoric, and realities of being a sailor, of floating somewhere in the middle of the world, never lost. A lot of the song is very performative, so theatrical. His vocals become of the world that he is describing. Drifting through the sea, with all his heart and soul.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
