Dive Into The Plush Visual Scapes of Marc Schuster’s ‘Arguably’

Marc Schuster has a keen sense of musical concept. The artist crafts sonic sequences that spring into visual scapes. Elaborate and detailed, his discography is a compendium that evidences the brilliance of his vision and the sophistication of his craft. Marc is an artist, educator, and a composer based in the outskirts of Philadelphia. Inspired largely by nature, human complexity, mundane excerpts, and ambient abstractions, he forges an immersive narrative. ‘Arguably’ is Marc Schuster’s latest album. It is a compelling series, each track shimmering with its distinct and unique agenda. Across the eight tracks, you’ll experience picturesque and scenic binds of acoustics, electronica, blues, rock, and soul trajectories. And between them, a universe of ambivalent evolutions.

‘The Best Day’ opens the track. An excitable scatter of melodies and an upping touch marks the theme. It brims with celebrative joy, perhaps a wedding day or a birthday. With orchestral rises and cinematic rises, quirky effects and warm vocals, he drives the theme. The free temperament and extempo accents in this pop rock context is instantly reminiscent of The Who.

‘One Cup of Coffee’ explores the funk motifs introduced by its predecessor. It is mostly jazz and blues, washed with cymbals and funk. ‘Rental Home’ showcases a new gradient of funk. Founded on wiry grooves, the artist launches into aerial frames of melody. Misty, water colored sentiments. This contrast nicely ties in the permanent/temporary nature of the theme. His innovations, abstractions, and sound design will take you back to Daft Punk.

‘Sell Me The Snake’. The absurd context of this track is entirely wound up by expressive rhythms and beat lines. Experimental and erratically sequenced, it is inlaid with incredible boxes of sonic data and whimsy. ‘Paul Giamatti (is everywhere tonight)’ continues that sense of mercurial expansiveness. It honors it by blending flat landscapes with dimensional instrumentals. Meeting at right angles, the sonic refractions are mellow yet magical. ‘Hell in Hello’ is an acoustical maneuver that gets into the destructive nuances of social interactions, as them form in an anxious mind.

In ‘May The Algorithm Smile Upon You’ is a classical number, infused with delicate folk and country lines. It is incredibly evocative and beautifully symmetric. ‘Blue Light’ concludes the album on a contemporary alt folk note. Strung entirely with ambient pulses and ruminative vocals, it gains an ethereal aura that leaves us in a transcendental space. Listen Now!
