Relish in FEN’s Funk-Pop Vibrations with Latest Album ‘HERO’

.Fen is a singer-songwriter, composer, and lyricist with a passion for funk, pop, disco, jazz, and blues. His stellar vision and sonic design is devoted to exploring new perspectives and experiences to immerse his listeners in. And it’s always a good time. There is energy, good vibrations, feel-good sensibilities, and so much groove. All this is further elevated by his captivating narratives and lyrical contexts. Fen’s latest release is the ‘HERO’ album. It is an uplifting collection of seven tracks that celebrate the life and beauty of selfdom, life, and love. And when you walk away from it, it will be with a light heart, hopeful spirit, and a newfound sense of gratitude.

The collection sports many 80s accessories like disco pop, funk brackets and dance rhythms. Think ABBA, Boney M, and Blondie. The soundscapes are fundamentally tuned to inspire movement and dance. And through that, experience an atmosphere of empowerment, liberation, glee, and levity. The title track especially exemplifies this. Its dynamic and energetic soundscape is reinforced by a lyrical community, a promise of hero, a good thing to revive us. In this context, a hero can be anything that reminds us of beautiful things and drives us to rejoice.

‘Make It’ is a groovy funk masterpiece. Readymade with bright melodies, fun rhythm motifs, and dynamic instrumentals, it is like a flash mob. You can’t help but tap into its vibe and go with the flow. The beats, charisma, and style is all reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s pop performances. Especially in the chorus. ‘In Love’ rides in with a rock n roll energy. It is progressively made up with reggae time stamps, breezy synths, and heartfelt vocals. The result is an Eric Clapton reminiscent track.

‘Freedom’ is flush with blues, soul, and rock. The beat line is so cool and stylish. And the backdrop is a mellow synth pop breeze accentuated by the flashy funk tips. Dissolve into the vocal sentiment and you’ll experience a fantastic trance. It spans with a sense of infinite liberty, possibility, and potential. Makes you feel like you can be anyone, achieve anything, and break free.

‘Miss You’ is a mellow folk-reggae-funk monument. Tinged with blues and soul vocals, it is sweet and nostalgic. ‘Catch The World’ has the flashy drama and infectious hooks of a  Bruno Mars track. It’s slow and groovy but the soul blues hit you right in your essence. To listen to it at the end of a busy day will help put your life in perspective. Perhaps slow it down, making it more enjoyable, as if you’re in a movie montage.

‘Miracle’ concludes the album. If Michael Buble, Phil Collins, and Billy Joel collaborated, then it would probably sound as extravagant and grand as the funk-pop chorals in this track. It is a classic, feel-good old American song. So celebrate and throw your hats up. It’s a good day!
