Nick Noon’s ‘Who Needs Who’: Gritty & Dazed Indie Rock Exuberance

Nick Noon has a strong sense of grandeur. Especially when it comes to music. The artist is known for his cinematic spells of songs that not only describe human affairs but propel it to a new plane of experiencing it. In his soundscapes, you’re bound to see an influx of funk, jazz, blues, and orchestral elements alongside the pop. Solid with visuals, energy, and exuberance; the whole nine yards!

However, this newest track, ‘Who Needs Who’ changes it up a little. It has a charismatic indie rock base, gritty and dazed with influences from 70s, 80s, and the 90s. Its rock n roll spirit is especially pronounced; textured and flavored to flow towards bluesy grunge and anthemic garage rock. We even see a little of the country/ americana in the introduction. The dark thematic quotients are beautifully represented with these blends. Listeners of Regina Spektor, The Smiths, and Talking Heads pull up. This one's for you.
