Sun King Rising Revives 70s Country Soul with ‘One More Story to Tell’

Sun King Rising is the southern rock and country soul banner of singer/songwriter/piano player John Blangero. The artist revives 70s styles, blending them with strokes of modernity to create heartfelt sonic tapestries. Listening to his music, you can perhaps identify influences of artists like Leon Russell and Joe Cocker mixed into his own delightful profiles. In his latest release, ‘One More Story to Tell’, Sun King Rising presents a blooming acoustic piano and vocal composition.

The country song overlays the playful ruminations of piano melodies with evocative soul accents. It recounts a love story that was fiery with passion and beauty. Blangero’s vocals are charismatic and warm, pledging it all to win the hearts of women. It is vintage and rustic with molten swirls of melody and magic.

‘One More Story to Tell’ is taken from the artist’s 2022 album, ‘Signs & Wonders’. The track features an all-star cast of musicians, including Steve Schuffert on guitars, George Elliott on bass guitar, and George Perilli on drums. The backing vocals are provided by Stevee Wellons, Joy Brown, and Bernice Wilkerson. “One More Story to Tell” was produced by Ace Acker and engineered by David Granati at Maplewood Studio in Ambridge, PA and mixed and mastered by Brian Foraker.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
