Song Review/ Neo-Soul : LTB’s ‘Butterflies’

LTB’s fluid style and sonic dynamics is reinforced all over again with his latest release, ‘Butterflies’. The artist stretches out along the coast of the soul spectrum, so effortlessly cruising through. Hip hop beats rise and fall into the ambience synth frame. There is a freshness to the tonalities and textures, perhaps to situate the essence of the theme within the story of the protagonist. The neo-soul features are nicely matched with the R&B vocals.

There’s a little bit of pop rap in there as well, mixed up with orchestral dives and rises. All in all, it makes for a very easy listen. It gets cast in the room around, filling it up with the emotions and experience of the protagonist, his state of mind and stream of consciousness. If you’re looking for an immersive listening experience contemplating heartache, this one is for you.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
