Song Review/ Experimental Electronica : Applied Communications’ ‘boyfie sale’
Applied Communications is an experimental electronic rock banner that takes musical expression to a whole other level. It leans into the retro electronic vibe and drives it into the future with explorative sequences, springing imagery, and unique circuits.
Their latest release is called ‘Boyfie Sale’, a track which sort of has a junky, retro electronic for sale and purchase vibe. Where you would ideally go to pick up outdated, chunky, nostalgic, and geeky appliances and gears. The soundscape, switching between a spectrum of styles from rap to beeping video game sounds, to Latin blues accents to hip-hop basslines.
There’s some jazz influence as well that you’ll see in the spontaneous rhythms but they are evasive. Leaning into the fact that trends and time are cyclical, the soundscape takes us on quite the sonic journey. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
