Song Review/ Art Rock : Oreaganomics’ ‘Everything is Legal’

Oreaganomics is a singer-songwriter and indie band. Their music has a 70s ethos. Cast in a vintage frame, they try to revive the slow life, the meaningful way of thought, contemplation and self exploration that is attached with bands  like The Beatles, Bob Marley, and the like. Their latest release is ‘And Introducing…. shane!!!’ album, a collection that showcases folk rock with new perspectives, stylistic fringes, and musical elements. 

The track, ‘Everything is Legal’ introduces the album. It is a narrative on the way the world is progressing and how everything is becoming available to us. Data, information, drugs, wars, social media, etc. And now, we have to explore and learn what works for us, think about the things that elevate us and the things that put us down. There is a sort of melancholy that the vocalist brings to the song, a kind of resigned atmosphere that just wants to relax and have a chill life. And with the sunset background forged with mellow reggae grooves, indie rock and alt folk, an enjoyable duality of life starts to form.
