Song Review / Pop : Richy McLoughlin ‘We Three Kings’

Richy McLoughlin is a singer-songwriter and an electro pop artist. His style is interesting, manifesting in the alternative sphere. The appeal of his work lies in the worlds that he creates, the space that he leaves for exploration and interpretation. The three-track EP, ‘Dublin 7’ is a Christmas special release. Taken from it is Richy’s contemporary and expansive interpretation of the classic Christmas carol, ‘We Three Kings’. He infuses the beloved carol into an extrapolative atmosphere.

The vocals are mellow with a hypnotic tone lifting into a 70s electro vibe. Synths are plush and colorful, swishing across the soundscape. Vocal peaks are marked with more pronounced melodic necklaces. The grooves, beats, and rhythm is measured, levelled and seamless. Listening experience is marked by the wonder cast by the soundscape, both in tone and in ideation and formation. Listen Now!
