Single Review/ Alt Rock : The Dead Bottomleys’ ‘Coal’

The Dead Bottomleys have that remarkable garage rock ethos of the 70s. Coarse, homegrown, powerful, and a whole lot of fun. Their latest release is the ‘Sink and Tarnish’ album, a collection that stipulates the range, the swag, and the striking ethos of the band. ‘Coal’ introduces the album. Much like the fossil fuel, the song is forged with heat. Slathered in basslines, drenched in riffs and punctuated with strong beats, its evolutions are fantastical.

It is molded with moments of hard rock, rock n roll and a whole lot of alternative influences. The vocals are an edgy wiry and low tonal, effortlessly cutting through the mass of the instrumentation. Guitar solos are charismatic, whimsical, quirky and so full of rife and revolution. Overall, it is one that creates the perfect ambience to abandon care and comfort and just kick it. Listen Now!
