Rob Giles Delivers Transcendental Acoustics in ‘Meditation Drive-Thru’
CRob Giles is a singer-songwriter with a flair for holistic sonic narratives. His compositions are beautifully mindful, inspiring themes like hope, optimism, resilience, joy, and love in the wake of heartache. ‘Meditation Drive-Thru’ is Rob’s latest release; an eleven-track collection that features philosophically comforting frames that will soothe the heart. Contained in a vessel of measured acoustics, the gentle textures are dedicated to immerse the listener in healing spheres.
The album opens with ‘Tears into Art’. Made of trickling acoustics and serene baritones, it drenches the mind with soft perspectives. And with insightful lyricism, the artist renews the listener’s sense of self, gently nudging us towards self-discovery. ‘Remind your heart who you are, go find your grace in your scars’.
In ‘New Mistakes’, he dwells on a cycle of heartbreak. The wealth of emotional complexities he brings with dwindling acoustics and his vocals is incredible. Tracks like ‘What Would You Do If You Could Have It?’ and ‘I Am Not My Body’ share the same sonic fabric and style.

‘Some Stars’ is a special track. Blending synths and acoustics, Rob showcases the heartbreak of shattered self-worth. Teeming with live melodies and bejeweled elements, the sonic combinations and powerful melancholy take us to the soundscapes of One Republic and Coldplay.
‘Effectra’ and ‘Lower’ are also electro-acoustic hybrids. They are however contained in darker spheres, with prominent electronic properties. ‘Drinking Poison’ shares in this energy. Pulsing with synths and evocative vocals, it phases into a transcendental fusion of groovy rock riffs, contemporary melodies, and choral harmonies. It is melodramatically ethereal. Easily one of our favorite tracks from the album.
Each track is an acoustic oasis, distinct in its instrumental patterns and ruminative presence. They are populated with a unique perspective, one that acknowledges the depth and detail of human pain alongside insurmountable strength and capacity of joy. His work in this album is reminiscent of artists like Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens, John Mayer, and we even get shades of Hozier in some tracks. Listen Now!
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
