Odyssey Through Prog-Rock Cosmos with ‘Suburban Bicycle Gang’

‘In The Cosmos’ is the sophomore album of Ontario-based indie rock band, Suburban Bicycle Gang. The ten-track collection sets out a distinctive sonic imprint of the trio. They weave in the iconic styles of 20th century rock artists like Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd. Across the tracks, we see folk rock, sunny pop-rock melodies, blues, and rock n roll, all infused with psychedelic sensibilities.

There’s also a nostalgia in the way they think about rock music and execute it with rich variations. Tracks like ‘In the Cosmos’, ‘Easy Money’, ‘Sammie Greene’, and ‘Glory Hole of Death’ have dynamic make ups, with evolving riffs and trippy sonic accessories. Others are oriented to soulful folk-rock, sprung with harmonica melodies, drawling vocals, flutes, and gentle rhythm slopes. ‘Five Flings’ and ‘Bobo The Hobo’ particularly stand out with cerebral personalities. Suburban Bicycle Gang is Dave Fox, Jerry Grey, and Eric St-Pierre.

The album is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
