Music Review: Dax’s ‘Catch the Rain’

Dax is a self-made rapper and hip-hop artist known for his compelling flows and poignant narratives. He fleshes out themes like mental health, manhood, pain, and purpose through the lenses of personal experience. When you listen to his music, you’ll know that what you’re getting is authentic and honest. Dax recently put out his fourth studio album, ‘What is Life?’ In which he gets into his relationship with God, alcohol, time, and gender among other things.

Taken from this collection is the track ‘Catch the Rain’. With elegant metaphors and staunch sentiment, he unpacks the vicious and cruel cycle of pain. The verses are crisp and clean, infused with real emotion. Playing out against a minimalistic backdrop, the inflection and energy of his vocals carry the song to lofty heights. There’s greatness here, so have a taste.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
