Sira Garcias ‘Your Choice’ is a Beautiful Sphere of Ethereal Pop
Sira Garcias is a singer-songwriter and soul pop artist. Driven by narratives and emotion, her tracks are mellow, genre fluid spaces. There’s a freeness in the way she views and delivers sound, and this quality is especially emboldened in her new EP, ‘Your Choice’. It is a collection of four acoustic tracks with a wealth of influences from Latin blues, alt-folk, to neo-classicals and ethereal pop. The title track introduces the EP. Led by her idiosyncratic quivering vocals, it explores autonomy and individuality in defining the course of life. Opening with piano melodies, the soundscape is slowly stretched with earthy folk beats, violin washes, acapella harmonies, and tambourine accents. With slow and effusive vocal delivery, she draws these diverse elements into a lovely alt-pop ballad.

‘Corruption The Awakening’ is up next. This again comes with crafty twists. The dwindling trickle of the blues guitar intro expands with highland folk violins, echoing beats. And in the second verse, it bursts into an orchestral anthem, supremely energetic and sentimentally charged.
‘Forever’ is a contemplative neo-classical pop. The instrumentation drenches the soundscape like gentle rain. Sira’s vocals are beautiful orbs of consciousness that flow gracefully through these elegant melodic curtains. A memorable rhythm bolsters the harmonies to the vocals as it slides to its climax.
‘Destine (Live)’ concludes the EP. It is an enigmatic composition featuring the talent of Japanese artist Hideaki Domon. Resonant wires of instrumentation ring through the ethereal ambiance. And flushed simultaneously with eastern folk mystique and experimental electronica, it strikes a hypnotic chord in the listener.
Sira García debuted in 2015 with her singles, ‘The Dead Book’ and ‘What’s in You’. Both of them were largely neo-classical instrumental pieces with the exception of a few frames in the latter. This new EP reinforces this set up and adds a layer of colorful folk elements to bring a new perspective.
