Harry Kappen - One Life
Harry Kappen’s music resonates with eclectic influences. They are genre-bending webs that unite time and space. He forms classic and contemporary continuums that not only speak to his versatility as a musician but his love to explore and find moments of sonic congruence. In his latest track, ‘One Life’, the Dutch artist, music therapist and multi-instrumentalist presents a blues-rock soundscape. Forming on the softer and dazing side of the genre, it is reminiscent of artists like Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck.
Harry composes it as a theatrical production. He nurtures layers of guitar melodies, prepping them with lyrical context for a dramatic outpour. The rhythm is also stretched out to a slow crawl, mimicking the pace of blue melancholy. And sure enough, in the moments leading to the bridge, a classic-rock orchestra blooms. It is a powerful, electric swashes of emotional build up. And it becomes bigger and more complex as we edge towards the climax. Listen Now!
