Experience The Defiant Rock Quotients of Coma Beach in ‘I Won’t Listen EP’

Coma Beach is a rock band whose sound is wired with fantastic lifts of indie, alternative, punk, and psychedelics. Their flows are layered, infused with fraying concepts, bursting with textures, and driving grooves. They are eclectic, controversial, and outrageous; taking liberties with experimentals, funk, metaphysics, absurdities, and dramatics. And you’ll sense that freedom in their soundscapes, expounding on it with an overwhelming spirit. Their latest release is the ‘I Won’t Listen EP’, that nicely ties into their sonic essence. The title is appreciated with each track, as it is rolled in sludgy riffs, confronting vocals, and launching beats. It is a four track collection that projects a rebel’s utopia. You’ll see coverage of themes like passion, hedonism, heroism, and defiance.

‘I Won’t Listen - Single Version’ opens the EP. The rock is carved out of the 70s in a way that is reminiscent of Queen, The Who, Pink Floyd and The Doors. It is hard rock wracked with throbbing basslines and glaring riffs. After the intro, they pick up the punk, phasing it into frames of electric visuals, refracting patterns, and cerebral makeup. The vocals have propaganda, melodrama, and anthems that are easy to get addicted to. ‘The Past of the Future’ drives the punk to new heights. Progressively elevated with metal and prog rock pressures, it is a force to be reckoned with. It will have you running round in circles, chasing your tail, warping your mind.

‘Passion’ is up next. It is a slower, mellow, classic rock, Beatlesque composition. The vocals are soft, winding around sweet moments of vulnerability and intimacy. Electric guitar planes are long winded and deeply evocative. You can travel to different worlds on it. ‘Another Song - Radio Edit’ concludes the collection. It is vibrant, dynamic, energetic, and powerful. There’s pop, punk, and rock. The riffs appear to jingle but have a razor sharp edge. Almost like a celebration of another song, without compromising on their signature rough edges. Listen Now!
