EP Review/ Alt Rock : Coma Beach’s ‘Passion/ Bliss’

When you listen to Coma Beach, it’s like coming alive. The drama of it, the performance and the musical pulse is full of passion and emphasis. The band brings that full power into their latest release ‘Passion/ Bliss’ EP, a collection that takes the listener through the perversion of passion to pride, fall, and a salvation hopefully. The compositions are written like a play, each one striving to demonstrate the grandeur of its theme. The first two tracks are ‘Passion’ and ‘Bliss’.

Riff heavy, power packed and bold, they flesh out the fiery core and hedonistic elements of the themes. Which then takes a darker, more coarse and hardcore turn as we approach ‘Astray (Fallen Angel)’. The next track is punk heavy with dynamic beats and eclectic guitar work. But the bass and the vocals are calm and serene, an expansive line spreading out like a horizon. ‘Final Door’ concludes the EP with the fight and fire that is deserving of the theme. It sports some pseudo metal vocal accents that is built into a punk anthem, roaming the scene with mood and momentum. Listen Now!
