Enjoy Robert Silvester’s Post-Punk Melancholy in ‘Still Waiting’

Robert Silvester is full of charisma and style. The UK-based singer-songwriter and drummer is endowed with creative and complex ideas that he simulates within his post-punk soundscapes; leaving always space for experiment and exploration. The result is an intuitively surreal atmosphere that lingers long after the song is over. In his latest single, ‘Still Waiting’, Robert Silvester gets into the heartache of unrequited love.

The track opens with a phone ringing which is followed by the hypnotic storytelling. It is dreary and ghostly almost, vaporous and empty as the protagonist dilates themes of loneliness, loss, and hopelessness. He waits on a call. Time passes by, from dawn to morning, afternoon to night. Robert’s vocals are charged with an existential undercurrent. The sadness is pungent and pervasive.

It is so brilliantly composed - simple and straightforward. But, as the theme unravels, the listener is caught in a web of deep complexity and dark consciousness. It is immersive storytelling at its best. Addictive and absorbing. Listen Now!
