Chandra’s Pop Rock Crosses Into New Energy Levels in ‘Lifted’

Chandra’s feel good pop rock flows through their edgy, high energy, and bold new EP, ‘Lifted’. The collections features some of their previously released singles that are further enunciated both in context and style by the title track and another called Overload. It is quite fantastic to listen through the six tracks, each one so extravagant and energetic than the last. Written and inspired by the frontman, Chandra’s own struggles and coping mechanisms , these songs are real and affecting. Each riff, every beat, and the progressing build is geared towards driving the listener to more positive and hopeful places.

‘Smile (No Fox Gibbon)’ is a groovy punch with catchy vocal hooks. A rhythmic symmetry backed by an engaging beat. The song promotes the reckless abandon of societal expectations in the light of happiness. It encourages the listener to do whatever gives them joy without caring about what is expected or imposed upon them.

‘Pretty’ picks up where its predecessor leaves off. Celebrating a sense of self by applauding unique and individualistic ideals. Fuzzy riffs ride the high of the vocal harmonies and its melodic tones. The hearty quality and happiness quotients of the song is sure to sweep you off your feet. ‘I’ll Be There’ is relatively moody and raw. The track traces loyalty and passion on the walls of hard rock, garage rock, and grunge. The pop pings colorfully in the chorus. If you enjoy the work of A Great Big World and Maroon 5 are sure to enjoy these blends of pop and rock. So electric yet so sentimental.

‘Lifted’ sparks a 90s and early 2000s ethos. The pop is contemplative and the rock is rich with texture, emotion, and rhythm. As dramatic, grand, and uplifting as bands like OneRepublic and The Script. ‘Lighters to the Sky - EP Version’ has a similar makeup, reinforcing the ideas and sonic cultures of the title track. It forms like a vibrant trail of sound. ‘Overload’ is a lighter, more acoustical production. Drenched in the soft ambience of warm baritones is elating. With a distortive frame, it picks up into a rock atmosphere, deep and dense with musical details. The instrumentals are so uniquely written and executed. It expresses the complexity of the theme very well and poses many interesting contemplations. Listen Now!
