Album Review/ Singer-Songwriter : Wilhelm’s ‘Wake me in the Sunrise’

Wilhelm perceives music as the direct language of emotion. His compositions are intricate and detailed, each speck, melody, gradient, texture, and vocal accent detailing it accurately. As an alt folk artist, his music is drenched in an acoustic daze. Sometimes he details a life, having the soundscape fill in the atmosphere for it. Other times, he presents frames, like a picture viewer and lets the listener’s imagination and experience string them together.

His latest release is the ‘Wake me in the Sunrise’ album, a collection that fosters a warm, cozy, contemplative solitude. A kind of solitude that lets you roam the expanse of your mind, dwell in nostalgia and float, slowly and pleasantly through the landscape. Each track presents different states of mundanity that, with music, he cultivates into spheres of absurd wonder or cerebral scintillation. With lyrics that are bare and sparing, he intensifies the daze and leads you through the many times of day. Listen Now!
