Matthew O’Neill Delivers an Absorbing Contemporary Folk Track in ‘We’ll Miss You’

Matthew O’Neill is a singer-songwriter and indie folk artist  based in the Catskills. It’s as if he channels the natural landscapes of the place into his music. Absorbed by the ambience of nature, his rhythms, vocals, thoughts, and emotions form slowly; in ways you can savor and relish them across the board. His latest release is ‘We’ll Miss You’, a melancholic swirl tailored with light instrumentals and raw vocals. Like a blurry, contemporary Nick Drake piece, it extends beautifully with the freshness and layers of the hills.

It is incredible how much depth he nurtures into it. With pliant vocal arcs, floating frames of memories, and rousing sentiments, he formulates a specific formulation of nostalgia that has the permanence of grief and and gloomy transience, Listen Now!
